The USS Kittiwake is a former submarine rescue vessel that was intentionally sunk in 2011 to create an artificial reef and dive site. It lies upright on the seabed, providing a unique opportunity for divers to explore its structure and marine life that has since colonized it.

Divers can explore multiple decks of the ship, including the bridge and engine room. The wreck is accessible for penetration dives, but caution is advised due to potential hazards inside. The surrounding area is rich in marine life, including schools of fish and coral formations.
